My work is grounded in a deep interest in relationships
How we come to understand ourselves through them, how connection can support us, and what happens when we no longer feel able to be fully ourselves.
I offer a warm, thoughtful space where we can make sense of what you are experiencing without judgement or pressure to have all the answers.
Understanding the Person, Not Just the Problem
What interests me is the person behind the difficulty — not simply what someone is feeling or doing, but what that response might be communicating.
Being able to tell your story and have your lived experience truly heard and understood can matter deeply. As we make sense of what has happened to us, we can begin to notice how the past may still be shaping the present—in the beliefs we formed, the ways we learned to protect ourselves, and what we came to need to feel safe, loved, or accepted.
When we meet our struggles with curiosity rather than judgement, something can begin to change. We can understand ourselves differently and find new ways of responding to what life asks of us.
More Than Words
Talking matters. Being able to tell your story and feel heard matters deeply. But sometimes words do not explain everything.
Using the somatic approach of Compassionate Inquiry, developed by Dr Gabor Maté, I support you in noticing not only the story you carry, but also what is happening in your body. With curiosity and compassion, we can listen more closely to what may still be asking for your attention—to understand what it may be trying to tell you, what it may need from you now, and what might gently begin to shift when you make space for something different.
My Training and Approach
I hold a Level 9 Masters degree in the Psychology of Relationship Mentoring. This deepened my understanding of how relationships influence emotional development, our sense of self and the ways we connect with others.
I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Relationship Mentors and practice within its professional and ethical framework.
Alongside this, I have academic and professional training in counselling and psychotherapy, parenting, attachment, developmental trauma, emotional regulation and body-oriented therapeutic approaches.
My work is integrative and is informed by:
Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry
Internal Family Systems-informed parts work
Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing and felt-sense work
Attachment and relational approaches
Emotional regulation and body awareness
Polyvagal-informed perspectives
These approaches allow me to work with the whole person — your thoughts, feelings, relationships, body and the different parts of you that may be struggling or trying to protect you.
My therapeutic work is supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
What You Can Expect
My role is not to tell you who you are, give you another label or decide what you should do.
We begin with what matters to you and move at a pace that feels manageable. Together, we create space for understanding, greater self-compassion and a way forward that feels more connected to who you are.
You do not need to perform, explain everything perfectly or arrive with all the answers. You only need somewhere to begin
The Story Behind the Illustrations
The illustrations throughout this website reflect ideas at the heart of my work. They explore how relationships shape us, how our experiences stay with us, and how greater steadiness and new possibilities can develop with support.
Shaped Through Connection
We grow through relationships. The emerging plant represents the care, safety and responsiveness that help us develop
Beneath What We See
The roots remind us that behaviour and distress have a deeper story, shaped by experiences, needs and ways we have learned to protect ourselves.
What We Carry
Like a butterfly carrying pollen, we carry traces of our experiences and relationships into new encounters.
Finding Steadiness
The grounded plant reflects how support can help us feel steadier, even when life remains difficult
Changing Shape
The branching tree represents the possibility of growth, clearer boundaries and relationships taking a new shape.
